Lagan’s Art Studio began with a simple belief: art is more than something we see. It is something we feel, remember, and carry with us long after we’ve looked away.
Founded by an artist who sees creation as a way of understanding the world, LAS grew from a love for the things that words cannot always express—the emotions we struggle to name, the moments we wish we could preserve, and the beauty we discover in the most unexpected places.
Every piece begins with an idea, but it becomes something more through patience, intention, and the hands that bring it to life. No two creations are quite alike, because no two stories are.
We believe that art deserves to be made with care, presented with honesty, and given the time it needs to become what it was meant to be.
LAS is still growing, still learning, and still discovering what art can become. We don’t claim to have reached the end of that journey. We simply believe in the value of every step along the way.
Because behind every piece is a person who imagined it, created it, and chose to share it with the world.

I’m Lagan Markanday, the artist and founder behind Lagan’s Art Studio.
For me, art has never been merely about creating something beautiful. It is about giving form to feelings, preserving fleeting impressions, and discovering meaning in things that might otherwise go unnoticed.
My work is guided by curiosity, emotion, and an appreciation for the details that make something feel uniquely its own. I’m drawn to the way colours, textures, shadows, and forms can communicate what words sometimes cannot.
As an artist, I’m still learning, experimenting, and discovering new ways to express what I see and feel. I believe every piece has something to teach its creator, and that genuine craftsmanship comes not only from skill, but also from patience, intention, and the willingness to keep growing.
Through LAS, I hope to create art that becomes more than an object in someone’s space. Something they connect with. Something that holds meaning for them. Something that feels as though it has always belonged.
Because, ultimately, I don’t want to create art that people simply look at.

Swans are rarely imagined alone, yet here stands one—surrounded by a world where light and darkness coexist.
The shadows speak of suffering; the light, of beginnings yet to unfold. Neither erases the other. They exist together, just as the past can remain with us even as we step towards something new.
Perhaps this swan is not merely alone, but at the threshold of becoming something more.
Because not every beginning comes with a companion. Not every journey begins in the light.
Sometimes, we must begin alone.

Lagan's Art Studio is a small house for original work: charcoal, graphite and paint, made patiently and offered to a few. Each piece is signed, numbered and prepared for its new walls.
